Well, to those readers who still check here on my journal, no, I am not dead. I have simply been busy with the new faire season, my girlfriend, and trying to have a somewhat normal life. This journal won't be very long though. It is early Saturday morning and I feel terrible. My aforementioned girlfriend and I were supposed to go to San Diego today ( Read more... )

I'm so sorry fayded_mind April 17 2005, 20:13:56 UTC
Tony, I'm so sorry. That you're sick, of course, but more for your father.

Really, people who are terminally ill rarely set their goals on "the last laugh." That's sort of a Hollywood thing, or a select-few-truly-evil thing. Actually, many people really start trying to mend burned bridges and heal old wounds as much for personal closure as it is for some displaced fear. Trying to "make it right" before we go is a long-standing tradition we humans have. Your Dad more than likely won't be the "last laugher" you're fearing. And even if he was, you could go on knowing that you did everything you could for the relationship. For your own peace of mind in years to come, as well as for your father, go to him. I think you'll regret it if you let your fear of what he may say or do win out.

It's your decision, love, and I support you no matter what, but I think you should make a move on this one as soon as you can.

And I really hope your tummy feels better, too.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do for you.
Your friend,

Hey Sweetie...
Oh hell in a handbasket....
Kimberly is right, very very rare are the truely twisted minds of a last laugh...and on the way off chance of that happening, at least your own mind could be at peace instead of racing with "what if's" for the rest of YOUR very long life.

I've never told you about my step-dad, but suffice to say he was about as crappy as they come. But I was glad I stepped in and helped during his last days, I was there for others around him that needed me...and I got to make peace with that whole situation and move on from it too. I don't know the details, but that's my two cents anyway :)

As for your tummy---peppermint tea may help with nausea, although not in enema form *wink*

hugs and kisses dude
