As to yer exercisin, don't run around a block if you don't regularly exercise. Do a couple weeks of leg strengthenin stuff with maybe some sprints mixed in. Don't go the distant unless the gears are set right. I did a lot of abdominal and leg exercises when I was improving my run time in basic. Lost a lot of weight while I was at it too.
