State of the Mummy

Inspired by all the trans-ethnic demiromantic demisexual cat-otherkin on Tumblr, I have decided to attempt to define myself, for my own amusement and the possible benefit of friends and passing strangers.

1. I am Elderly.

1.1. Memo to self: invest in drape-y clothes, shapeless dresses, possibly shawls.

2. I have been Mummified. This renders my life ( Read more... )

Goodness. I don't know if this means I should take more of a look at Tumblr, or if I should be staying far far away.

I actually googled that phrase, and found somebody who described themself in almost exactly those terms. I'm amazed, impressed, and a bit disturbed--a bit like my feelings when I first discovered the existence of the Cherpumple.

ETA: I'm still trying to work out what "demiromantic" actually means. Some of the definitions make it sound as if I am one--they reference requiring an emotional connexion with a person before developing a romantic one. What puzzles me is why that seems to be linked with things like asexuality and aromanticism.

Most of the definitions I read for demiromantic sound like...pretty much every person I know, barring a couple of sociopaths. Either I'm missing some crucial point, or it's a VERY broad category.

Tumblr is baffling to me. I mean, no, thats not exactly right--I can look at it for hours, and be entertained. But I don't understand how to have a conversation on there.

I don't think you CAN have a conversation on tumblr. Any time I click on a "note," it appears to be not a comment but rather just a notification that someone liked that post or reblogged it. I have one, but I've never known wtf to do with it.

P.S. BOLO mail. Movie not appropriate to be watched with Kidlets; may be appropriate to watch with Husband depending on, uh, what sort of evening you have in mind... :-X

It seems to be AWFUL for conversations -- to the point that I think it must have been designed, more or less, to discourage them. I have no idea why they would do that, though.
