My favorite thing to point out to people who insist on taking the Bible literally: there are TWO creation stories in it. And they contradict each other.
My gramma's favorite point to make is that the stories in the Bible are cues for an oral tradition, so they're incomplete. Also, a lot of them are parables- not necessarily true literally, but the moral is the same. Then there's the fact that Cain got married after he left, but that wife would have to be his sister if Adam and Eve were the only humans around.
Meh, I just wish people would THINK a little more instead of just blindly accepting everything they're told. In science AND faith.
