I'm about ready to textually rip some people apart. I've cringed at a lot of stuff that the autism community has posted since I've been a member, but the stuff coming from people there lately has made my blood boil to its very limit. I've stayed throughout the bullshit in the hopes of giving some helpful advice from the first-person viewpoint that ( Read more... )

I hear you babe - it would anger me too. The only thing my little guy takes is a small dose of melatonin to help him sleep through the night - otherwise he wouldn't be able to sleep for school the next day.

Exactly. Paxil did the same thing to me, as you know. That and Paxil were the two in particular that fried me. All because no one would stop the bullying and just wanted to shut me up.

I have no autism, so Paxil works for my anxiety. But for someone else with autism etc, it probably works the opposite ways. Doctors should be aware of these things. My daughter has hepititis C and her oldest son has a blood condition called ITP which causes his platelet count to drop drastically and he could bleed to death over a minor injury. Through the years and medications, she has found that often what is supposed to work does the opposite and what is not often works quite well. By giving her son coffee from a very early age, calmed him down and would help him sleep. When the doctor put him first on medication that was supposed to help, it caused him to have extremely violent mood swings where he would go from laughing one second to crying the next second. So she had him taken off of it, but the only other alternative was to put him in the hospital overnight each time his platelets dropped, and giving him two bags of IV medication with four hours between bags. So each time he'd have to go in, she would spend the night ( ... )

Yes lstening to what someone has to say is important. I was lucky in school. I never got teased or beat up. Good thing for me I can't fight. Back then I wore a shaved head and leather jacket and army boots made me look taller,no one botherd me.
