UNCC is HUGE and Gorgeous!!!! Trees are all green and flowers are blooming everywhere!! My apt is a two story town house with two bedrooms and 1 and 1/2 baths. Ashley and I even get to paint whatever colors we want. ^_^ There is a Harris Teeter grocery store right down the road, my apt is closer to campus than some of the dorms ( Read more... )

But, don't you need, like, a real job that pays you? And when are you going to have time to finish your certification if you're going to school and working and (presumably) trying to find an internship in your field? It sounds like a great deal, but this doesn't sound like the best time for it. You wouldn't want to spread yourself too thin.

I will be getting a real job. I'll only be at the dive shop a few days a week and I'm only going to school part time this coming year. Also... I can't take the anthro class this summer like I wanted to because in order to get FAFSA as an undergrad during the summer I need to take 6 credits and I'm not paying $1700 dollars for 3 credits I don't need.

i never got to discuss the actual sich with you... are you doing lots o'loans, or something other? in retrospect i should've not done the loan thing at UNO the way i did b/c it cost me retarded amounts of money. if half or more of your annual income is from a school-derived source (meaning loans, work-study, or assistantship), you can't claim residency in that state. and i'm assuming that there's a nonresident fee for tuition for you, yes? most state schools have one.

in other words, i would say yes to job-jobs and hopefully being able to switch to in-state tuition in your second year. god knows i'm grateful to pay the in-state rate at UNO this time around... not that i'm ever gonna pay back those loans, ever, but still.

I have to check on the percentage of income thing... but I'm only going part-time this year to keep costs down. The only loans I'm getting are FAFSA and I only have six credits. one class MW and one class WF so I should be able to work quite a bit. *crosses fingers*

basically do an internship nothing... there's got to be a way to actually make that an internship if you're gonna do it. now you've just got to find a link to your coursework that'll make that feasible...

There isn't really a way to work SCUBA into anthropology... except maybe for recovery of snared bodies in water...
