So, please excuse the lack of updating...I am seriously in academic quicksand...regardless of my desperate efforts, I am sinking quickly. I have read 190 pages of Jane Eyre. I feel like this is a great accomplishment, though there's a great number of them to go...I have hit my brick wall...very hard

i think you should realize what an amazing fantastic adorable person you are and also be lucky you got to see coldplay. and i'm sure you have a lot of homework and college stuff just like everyone this time of year so i suggest you set yourself goals, with rewards of course because goals are no good unless you have rewards. for instance you read 50 pages of Jane Eyre and then you get a chocolate bar. or on a bigger scale if you finish Jane Eyre before X date then you get to go hang out with ________ whoever you want. well good luck.

Thanks a bunch. I know about goal setting and what not, it is just one of those things that is virtually impossible. Think about this: I go to bed reasonably early, wake up late, drink coffee, and then STILL fall asleep reading. It is intense. But I will try your methods, and see how I do.
The thing about college apps however is that my family has set an end of summer deadline. So while most people will be doing these until December, I will have my essays done, and have my apps ready in October. This is necessary, but stressful now when everyone else is spending time together and wondering why I am doing it now. Though I am happy that I will be getting it done, it is stressful, and I am just trying to keep afloat.
