[When the video turns on it's to a very displeased looking man, and apparently one who doesn't realize he just triggered the video function. He regardes the screen suspiciously for a few moments before huffing a sigh and just dropping his hand to his side. Everyone gets an exciting view of the dirt of field as he walks.]This- this is too

Malik! You are here!

A brief pause is all he gives before trying to answer Malik.]
I do not believe we are from different times. Did we just remove the traitor to our Brotherhood? [He still doesn't quite want to admit out loud that Al Mualim used them all for so long. Plus, if Malik did not know, he didn't want to ruin his friend's memory of their mentor.]

[Malik frowns a little at that- it was hard to think of their old Master in such a way, even now. He knew it was harder for Altair.] Yes, he is gone and Masyaf is being rebuilt, slowly.
[He gives Altair a searching look.] Do you have it here? [That strange Apple Malike could not bring himself to trust.]

[A quick bob of his head was the only answer he gave on the subject. It wouldn't do for someone to overhear.]
There is more. Another is here who claims to be my descendant from the future. [As if the dream world wasn't strange enough on it's own]

[Malik frowns.] Desmond Miles, the man with your face- and your scar. I saw him on this thing, and he claimed the same.

He tells the truth. Though he tends to not speak it well.

[Did I say something about not insulting Altair? Oops. At least now when he does it he doesn't sound like he wishes Altair to drop dead on the spot.
Reply
I believe he simply did not want something thrown at him upon your meeting.

If he has to worry then perhaps you have not been training his reflexes properly- you have been training him, have you not?

I arrived here only a few weeks ago and have yet to train with him. Though I do know he is well trained when it comes to blending in with crowds.

Do you trust him, Altair?
Reply
[But now he hesitates, because logically he shouldn't trust Desmond at all. He has no proof that what the other says is true beyond the similarity in their appearance. Yet he can't shake the feeling that the other is being truthful.]
I do. Although I would not be able to say why. [There's another more uncomfortable pause] Your opinion would be most valued Malik. Perhaps you will see a manipulation I do not. [Asking for help? That hurt.]

Malik gives him something of a searching look before nodding. It was still strange to deal with Altair as he was now, he was always ready to shoot down whatever arrogant comment may come out of his comrade's mouth but- nothing.] Some things are beyond the scope of simple explanation. I will keep an eye on him but... I believe your instinct may be correct. This story of his, it is far too ridiculous and complex to be a clever ruse.

I doubt he will be able to deceive the both of us.
Come. We should make our way out of the fields.
Reply
[Malik nods] As one so recently promoted from novice you should know his skills. [Might be teasing/mocking you there, just a little B| ] Very well- where do we head?
Reply
He turned and began to walk to the West.]
This way. I found a bureau when I arrived. It is of the same set up as those in our world.
