And with my luck...

I get home, relax for like a half an hour, and then I realize I have to go to the bank and get my dad the forty bucks I owe him because I just had to have those cds. Also, because it's me and I'm brilliant, I owe my FAU library fucking 26 dollars in late fees (don't ask!). So, I ask my dad if he is going to be home tomorrow; he is, but he sees ( Read more... )

The emergency light is that triangle light you have in the car. Or at least that's what it is in all the cars I've been in. You just push it and they come on. It's funny how most people have know clue what it is. The way that I learned was that some of my friends were cruising around one night and my friend goes "What does this do?". He pushed it, and on came the emergency lights.

I thought that had been it, mainly cause I didn't know what else it could be, but I didn't want anything else to go wrong, you know.

Do I hear car trouble?! Could be a number of things to check. Was there a noise; a grinding, screaching, scratching, kinda noise? When you opened the hood, if you or your dad did, did smoke come out, did it smell like something was burning? If you havent figured out, details is what I need to help ya..

I KNEW you'd reply to this!!! lol!
Actually, my battery light came on, like I said, but then went away, and then when I stopped so did the car...completely. It literally "died," like, all the needles went all the way to the left, the radio turned off the air turned off and so did the engine. The key wouldn't turn, and so on. My dad said it was a complete electrical failure. What ever the hell that means...

*Takes a sip of coffe* There is so much going on here...First off, do replace the battery which is kind of obvious. Also, check the alternator. The alternator recharges the battery when the engine is running, thats why there is a belt around the front of the engine. If the alternator isnt running properly, could explain why your battery died so suddenly.

Actually, and this made my dad feel really stupid, the battery cable, or something, was loose because we had just gotten a new battery I guess a few months earlier. However, the belt was also loose or something, it made noises apparently, so that had to be fixed. Since I had 50,000 miles plus on it, I had to get a bunch of other shit done to it (flushes, etc.), so I owe about $650, which sucks especially since there was nothing really erong with the battery anyway, but hey! What the hell am I supposed to do about it?
