[Dear Jocelyn, please excuse Jim while he tries to remember how to breathe. It's really a very big challenge for him to cling to consciousness right now.]
Re: Jocelyn McCoy // Star Trek XIowns_the_chairApril 15 2011, 23:29:05 UTC
[Will feeble nodding do instead of passing out? Please, please let that be an option!] Yeah, I just... I mean... [Have a puzzled look to go with the deathly pale Jim.] But how? I mean, we... There were condoms and... Protections and... How?!
Re: Jocelyn McCoy // Star Trek XIowns_the_chairApril 15 2011, 23:39:29 UTC
Well... [Breathing... Yes, breathing. Breathing is good. Now if only he could remember how it worked.] I guess that depends on what you want to do. I mean, Bones will kill me in ways I can't even imagine, but up until then, if you decide you want it, then... [Oh dear god, this is his worst nightmare come true.] Then I'll be supportive of your decision.

What did you expect? We both admit it was a stupid, stupid mistake. *She wasn't being petty, she was stating facts. Plain and simple.*
Is that so? Are you going to be the one solely responsible for raising this child then? Are you going to give up your glorious career with Starfleet to provide her with what she needs?
Re: Jocelyn McCoy // Star Trek XIowns_the_chairApril 15 2011, 23:59:29 UTC
We can agree that is was, yes. It might never have happened if you'd told me your name, but it has, and we've got to deal with it. [It was quite possibly the worst thing he could imagine having to deal with, but he would. Somehow.]
I will if I have to. If you don't want anything to do with this child, if you don't want an abortion, then I'll take care of it. I'll be her parent. I'm not going to ever agree to an adoption, Jocelyn.
Re: Jocelyn McCoy // Star Trek XIjmtooktheplanetApril 16 2011, 00:18:55 UTC
How was I supposed to know I'd come face to face with my ex-husband's roommate and best friend in a city with over a thousand cadets?
*Rolling her eyes, Jocelyn grit her teeth and ground out a curse.* Dammit, Kirk, why do you have to be so difficult about this? How is abortion an acceptable choice but adoption isn't? You make absolutely no sense to me at all. She has the opportunity to have two loving parents dote on her. She has the opportunity not to get caught in a complicated situation. Why would you deny an innocent child that chance?
Re: Jocelyn McCoy // Star Trek XIowns_the_chairApril 16 2011, 00:47:41 UTC
So you go prowling for cadets often, is that it? And conveniently forget to give them your name? [He is so not impressed with you right now, Jocelyn. So not impressed.]
Because! Because it's my kid. If she's born, then she belongs with her father. Do not challenge me on this, Jocelyn, because you will regret it. I am not your ex, I am not Bones, and you can not bully me into giving up my child. She deserves to know her parents, and if her mother wants nothing to do with her, then so be it. She'll have her father.
Re: Jocelyn McCoy // Star Trek XIjmtooktheplanetApril 16 2011, 00:55:40 UTC
No! That's not it and you damn well know it. It was a low point for me. I was vulnerable and trying to make myself forget. It was just my luck that you happened to be the one that made that happen.
*His threat and words about Leonard are enough to push her over the edge and her hand comes up to meet his cheek with a satisfying slap, the full weight of her body behind it.*
Don't you dare pretend to know what happened between us then, and don't you dare pretend to know a damn thing about me now.
Re: Jocelyn McCoy // Star Trek XIowns_the_chairApril 16 2011, 20:23:26 UTC
That just goes to prove that one person's luck is another man's misfortune. Though considering your track record, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a regular occurrence for you.
[If she thinks slapping him will achieve anything other than annoy him, she's got another thing coming. Sure his head snaps to the side, but then he's got a grip on her wrist and is pulling her closer to turn the full force of his glare at her.]
Oh, but I do know what happened back then. I may not know anything about you, but I remind you that you don't know a damn thing about me either. If you don't want this baby, then you can either terminate the pregnancy, or you can give her to me. Those are your options, and believe me, I have no compunctions about doing everything in my power to ensure that my child doesn't grow up surrounded by strangers if you choose to have her.

I can't stomach the thought of being a cold blooded murderess so that leaves adoption.
Reply
No. Adoption is not an option. If I have a kid, I want to know it. Either we have her, or we don't. If we do, then... Then we do.
