Iskierka is often jealous of Temeraire. She suspects that he is smarter and more magnificent than she is, and he is certainly better read (not that she's terribly interested in reading, at least not mostly). The smaller and older dragon is fairly amused by the young, fiery hatchling (though her hugeness, he won't lie, is impressive.)

Nonetheless, Falkor will be looping through the clouds, keeping up with the ease of an experienced flyer who is more at home in the heavens than anywhere else.

Temeraire is out flying over the lake, still hoping, in the back of his mind, that a ship will arrive and Laurence (or Granby) will be on it. He doesn't stay up for too long though and perches on the top of a hill where he can sun and still see the lake.

He's not paying much attention though to the skies...

And here comes an Iskierka, swooping down next to him with a cry of, "Temeraire!" Not even bothering to glance behind her, at least only a little. He'll follow, right?

Guess he will! The white dragon surges behind the red one, keeping up at a good pace.
