[Tammy's no fool. She doesn't have any experience with birds, but she knows well enough that they can bite and they probably wouldn't appreciate having their feathers yanked off. So she's been gathering fallen hawk feathers from the mews for a while now. She needs 19.5 (she figures 20 and she'll cut one of them in half) and right now she has 13. ( Read more... )

[Equius is still searching for his moirail, and has been for the past two days. He's beginning to run out of places to search, and that sinking feeling is now a total pit in his stomach. He walks, hunching over slightly, rage and sorrow fighting each other inside of him.]

You. Lowblood. Have you seen a troll, like me. A female that answers to the name "Nepeta".

[Tammy looks up at the voice, though that lowblood comment baffles her. But the general tone leaves little doubt it's an insult. She arches an eyebrow and eyes the gray-skinned...troll? Wait, Tammy remembers something about trolls. But even if it didn't immediately click, that name rings a definite bell.]

Can't say that I have. Not in person, anyway, and I can't remember the last time I talked to her. A while ago.

[Tammy tilts her head, studying the guy. Then she takes a shot.]

I'm guessing you're the sweaty asshole.

[His eyebrows raise for a moment, then lower to a sharp glare.]

I see you have spoken to the mustardblood. Do not believe any of the slander he tries to spread about me. Anyways, that is unfortunate. If you do... Let me know.

[He takes a seat on the grass far from her and opens his journal to hopefully see a response from Nepeta.]

[Tammy tilts her head, studying him across the way and wondering about his sullen demeanor. Wondering...]

If by mustardblood you mean Sollux [She's not quire pronouncing that correctly] then yeah, he mentioned you. And Nepeta, though I'd talked to her before that.

[Tammy nods to his journal.]

I take it you've tried contacting her that way?

I have been trying, but she has not been responding.

[His voice lowers to a mumble. Not quite as full of hate, but more tired. And slightly fearful for something that's seeming more and more likely.]

Not a single person has heard from her for a day or two, now.

[If this were a different situation, and a few days ago, Tammy might have shrugged that off. She goes days without talking to anyone around here, so silence isn't that unusual. For her, anyway.

But then again, apparently no one can find Iriel right now...]

Is that unusual? For her to go that long without talking to anyone?

I neither know, or care if she has kept in contact with others, outside of knowing that she is still here. She has never gone more than a day without making contact with me. Whether it was to show me her newest update to her shipping wall, or attempt to play a game with me.

Oh.

[Shipping wall? Tammy has a feeling that isn't what she thinks it is.]

So she's your girlfriend or something?

Oh, no, not a friend. Much STRONGER than that. Or is "Girl Friend" not what the term implies? She's my moirail. The one that calms my rage enough to not kill or tear apart this keep, and in exchange I provide protection and guidance.

[That...makes her pause for a minute, and she actually closes her book as she blinks over at Equius. See, that kind of thing, before, Tammy would have shrugged away as hyperbole, but after being here for a while, she's inclined to believe the troll is being perfectly serious.]

Well, a girlfriend is, uh. Sort of that. If you're lucky. It's someone you take on dates and and kiss and stuff. And talk to and that kind of thing. I've...never heard of moirails.

I do consider myself lucky to be moirails with someone like Nepeta, though I believe you are thinking of matespritship. Despite being a romance, moiraillegiance is not expressed through physical affection.

[Other than pouncegreets, of course.]

So it's a friendship. Which i guess is one way to describe platonic romance.

[Tammy scratches at her neck, eying Equius with a thoughtful kind of expression, but thankfully Antalyon hadn't roused itself to pay attention to the conversation. Who knew what the pesky djinn would try and do?]
