He had always liked it, though. When times were good, it had been cozy. A retreat from their duties, a place where they could simply be together for a little while.

It was a surprise, for most framed pictures of them had been thrown across a room at some point and quite a lot of others had simply been burned.

He had said he didn't care, and at the time it had been true. David was tired of fighting, and it never led anywhere but to more anger. And with everything going on, indifference had been so much easier.
But he had loved his wife, and that wasn't something you just erase.
