I need a land mine alarm clock...

It would go something like this: to turn it off (disarm it, heh) you would need to be conscious so as not to blow yourself up. It would be a tiny, hard-to-access button that you couldn't just slap, you would have to be fully aware. The 'sleep" function would cause it to explode. Nothing like the threat of potential death in the morning to wake your ( Read more... )

Oh, did I mention that I am on a 30 probationary period? Yeah, I should have just used a sick day, I have had some funky allergies lately. Maybe that's why....

what a horrible way to start the morning! and you are also on 30 day probation period? yikes.
I was in a 90 day probation perod and i quit on my 80th day. ^__^ (they were planning to fire me anyway, so I just decided to leave with my pride. I didn't need gov't money anyway for unemployment. the funny thing is, they begged me to stay..... then why did they threaten to fire me? mystery.)
this is going to sound silly, but try to go to bed earlier. if that doesn't help, i'll e-mail you what i think. ^__^
the idea of a detonating alarm clock could make you a fortune! patent it!
Hope your day brightens up! and you get a great sale too!

Funny thing is, I got to bed by 120. That is pretty early. Sometimes I don't get to bed until 3. Those days are harder, granted, but I still wake up. That's why it is mystifying me. The 2 days I was alte, I had plenty of sleep. I will try and get to bed earlier, but with me it's a challenge - I simply can't sleep until a givn time. Thanks for the advice!

that is strange. so you get about 8 hours of sleep and its not enough?
perhaps subconsciously you just don't want to go to work. ...

Nope, but even if he did, it wouldn't bother me. I am not bad mouthing him, he idd what he had to do. And he knows I haven't been really happy with the way things have been at the store lately. And he is potentially leaving soon. So, I don't think it would bother him at all. More than anything, I am mad at myself.

Gotta tell you. being late blows, you should have seriously just called in sick. I was late a few times when i lived on my own in Japan and to remedy that i got 3 alarm clocks set up in different parts of the apartment, as well as the 5 alarms on my cell phone going off at different times. Despite having to WALK INTO THE OTHER ROOM to turn one of them off, i still did it and slept through the rest and was late a few times. I think it has to do with general fatigue. You don't have to stay up late to feel it. It could also be due to a dissatisfaction with something your life which is manifesting itself in you being late ( ... )

I won't dismiss anything you are saying. I am looking into other potential jobs, but it seems to get anything MODERATE they want a B.S. or B.A., which is all B.S. in my opinion since they just don't seem to mean anything anymore. That being said, I am poking around, and hopefully I can find something different that doesn't suck the life outta me. Wish me luck!
