I joined a writing group. This has been on my "eventual list of things to do" approximately forever, but now I actually did it. It's a part of my new! big! volunteering commitment to Girls Write Now, an absolutely amazing non-profit which mentors creative high school girls in NYC, and of which I am a part. (ha, look at that sentence construction.

Sounds cheesy, but I can tell you're a good writer just from these livejournal posts. You always sound interesting, clever and organized (and so is your writing), and I think it's part of being a writer to feel like a phony in a group of writers. Those who don't are the annoying full-of-themselves type. I want to read the story! Pretty please?
