Your letter reached us despite our being in rooms at the local priest’s cottage. He seems a good sort and was highly amused by how I grabbed the letter from his hands. Jacob laughed, too, but he was right behind me as I read every word aloud twice. You’ve learned so much to be able to write such a wonderful letter to us. I thought Jacob would about burst with pride to see it.
We miss you terribly and speak of you often. Things here aren’t going as quickly as we’d hope and we both ache to be home. I’m sure we’ll both fall over from shock when we see how big you’ve grown. You must make sure to eat plenty of meat and greens as well as the sweets, though. You need those to grow strong. I’ll be reminding Orla of that.
Have you made friends of the other pups? Does Keegan take you hunting as he should? If not I’ll have words with him as well. He showed me the best place. A secret place and he’s to show you that place. It’s a special place we’ve sent you to, a safe place. You should learn every piece of it. Some day you’ll raise your own pups there, I hope.
We’ll be home as very soon as we can.
