I had no idea rats were so social! I was dropping the Urchin off to have a play date with the neighbors today, and they got two cow rats over the winter. They were so friendly! They really wanted attention from us. OH NO! now the Urchin is going to ask for a new pet!

Rats are very social, very smart, very affectionate and fragile. They're prone to Upper Respiratory Infections and can leak a substance that looks like blood (but isn't) from their eyes, noses and mouths.
They need a lot of attention and more often then not a friend to keep them company. If you don't spend time with them then you tend to become kind of an outsider and they can start to avoid you.
If you need any info on rats, their care, where to buy them, why you should or shouldn't let me know.
