Who wears shoes inside their home??? AMERICANS THATS WHO!

I never really understood why in certain American movies the characters will have to point out to the other characters when entering their home to take of their shoes. Isn't it self-explanitory?

So today I asked my friend while watching "Like Mike" (the boy in that movie EVEN wears the shoes to BED!) why the people in the movie wore their shoes ( Read more... )

Definitely weird.
I was talking to some people from the US. And most of the actual American white or w/e people do this. And those that don't get made fun of (kinda like it would be here if someone ever wore their shoes inside)

I'm American, and I never really thought about that...I thought people only took their shoes off in Japan o_0...shows how much I know. If I'm chilling at home, I don't wear shoes, but if I'm visiting someone or if someone is visiting me we normally don't take them off. Sometimes older people like my great aunt makes everyone do it when they come in.
And then there are people who do have shoes that they wear exclusively inside...now I think thats weird...

Everywhere BUT in the US, people take their shoes off. As far as I know. And shoes worn exclusively inside = slippers!! XDD

I think the main reason it grosses me out is because wearing shoes for that long = stinky feet. DX

...i feel...so stupid : (. Oh well. Have you ever seen those ugly house shoes with like the rubber soles and the canvas and the altogether ugliness? Thats what I mean.

Slippers CAN be pretty...but I have to say mine are as ugly as you can get XD they're like oversixed discolored fluffy boot things that go just past my ankles and have NO sole...just material at the bottom. BUT THEIR SOOO COMFY and warm!!!

You agree with the stinky feet?...I though you would be more patriotic, you know, protest my accusation that American's have stinky feet. But its nice to know that you don't live in denial XDDD
