Tonight t_eyla and me rewatched a few Due South eps: Dead Man Running and the finale. I'd forgotten how much I love that show, and how hard it makes me laugh every time. Fraser and Ray are such amazing characters.

Slings & Arrows. I cried the entire hour the first time I watched it. The second time, I think I managed to hold it together until the last 20 minutes. SO GOOD.

Life On Mars - the original BBC show, not the remake. The ending was controversial, but I don't think you have to think Sam did the right thing to have been blown away by it, and to this day, the song still gives me shivers. It's just indicative of where Sam's head was at the time (i.e. really not a good place), and it meant that the sunny, saturated, riding-into-the-sunset ending is as chilling as it is heartwarming, which fit into the show's themes so well I couldn't believe it. I had to wait until Let The Right One In before I saw another ending that kind of emotional mindfuck.

I'm sure I will think of another one as soon as I hit 'post'. :D

Simon & Simon. - As I recall, they walk out of the office, bickering (about AJ being adopted), then the camera pans around the empty office. When the credits start to roll, we see them outside the office door, hugging.

Sports Night--show-within-show is saved from destruction, everybody's as happy as they ever get, camera pans off on show-within-show's opening segment. It's a pretty, inside-out thing.

It's funny, I don't think I've actually seen that many last episodes for shows where I'm actually a fannishy fan. I quit West Wing, DS9, Veronica Mars, and about a hundred other shows before they ended, Firefly didn't exactly have a finale, Supernatural and CSI are still on...huh. Weird.

Oh, the Everwood finale was pretty good, but I was resigned to TPTB's het ship winning in the end, so.
