Is anyone else doing NaNoWriMo this year? I'm thinking about signing up, but I'm not really sure if I want to commit. On the one hand, I've got a pretty good idea for a SciFi novel, and I haven't written anything in forever, so I should probably get off my lazy ass and get back to that. YES DO IT DO IT YES. I looove NaNo ♥ but I also get antsy when I'm not writing, so it's good for me.

I enjoy writing when it's going well, but I tend to get lazy and content when I'm not doing it, and forget that it can be fun. And of course when you do it on a deadline it can also be really exhausting. But I think I'll probably do it. I spent some time over on the NaNo forums, and the excitement over there usually makes me want to jump in.

Are you doing it this year? And if you are, do you already know what you're going to write? I'm trying to fill the giant plot holes in my novel idea right now, and it's kind of daunting. I've gotten so used to the much more manageable fanfic scale of a couple thousand words.

I totally wasn't going to do it this year because I was so burnt out after writing my 64,000-word fic, but I got caught up in the enthusiasm too and now I'm really excited. I think I'm going to write a children's fantasy idea I've had on the back burner for a while. I haven't really started fleshing it out yet, because I've found that if I plan too much too early I'll get bored with my plot while I'm sitting around waiting to write it.

Oops, and I forgot to say that my Nanowrimo account is from 2004, so it's my old teenie fandom nickname, which is Taira.

I thought about reactivating my 2004 account, but after much soul-searching about whether I really wanted to be connected with my teenie sins, I discovered that I didn't have my password anymore, anyway.

I'm planning to do NaNo, but I have only the vaguest of ideas what I'm going to write about. Considering that I've literally not written anything (fic or original) since January, this could be a bit awkward. :\
