Just don't wander around GSU's dorms or go too far in to Metro-Atlanta at night and you'll be fine. Don't let the fear-mongering get to you. :P

But it wouldn't be a bad idea to park close to wherever you are and walk out with someone if the situation demands it.

Just to be clear, you really don't have to worry. The numbers don't sound at all accurate and, if they are, security has no doubt gotten better since they numbers were taken. Don't act careless (like jingling your keys in a parking lot), but don't make it a huge fear or anything.
