I initially thought along those lines too, but it seems a little too predictable. I'm sure the ponies will get back to normal, but I expect a twist ending for Discord.

I assume that "Discord" is the bad guy in this series. He/she will be defeated by the sponsors producing a cancellation notice.

He's a brand-new bad guy, and if last season is any indication, the next episode will be the last we hear from him. Except maybe if he turns good, which seems against his nature.

Aha, an innocent awaiting corruption! I highly recommend "Party of One" for you (it's on YouTube), you get to watch a crazy pony suffer a nervous breakdown, which you should enjoy.
