Ooh, and did it look to you like there was someone inside with a large green wheelie bin? My brain was having trouble processing what I was seeing...

There were many taxis like that. They were taking disadvantaged kids to the beach (yes, in this weather). It's an annual thing, and there was a procession down the Royal Mile this morning. It was fun to watch from the shop window I was in at the time. :)
