They used to belong to a thrash metal band called Terra Acida and then decided that you can rock out more with Flamenco (which is true) so they went to Spain to study for awhile then became buskers in Dublin until they got signed. Cool story.
When I was first learning to play guitar I used a Spanish guitar because there'd be more room between strings, so I had more room to watch my fingers and try to be more precise. I unfortunately never learned to play well enough that I could take on that particular style.
