Obama

Ok, yes I'm sorry I know I'm flaming on this but I love it...they...love doing this with minorities... they can't seem too find any other flaw with a minority political candidate except their race. His wife has and Afro and a Gun (some Panther bs) and the flag is burning in the fire while Obama is dressed in the common muslim garb...wtf? that's ( Read more... )

It looked to me like they were lampooning all the Obama internet legends rather than Obama. That cover is the best comment on the election I've seen so far.

Heh, I must read it when it comes out. I still think they went a little too far. The flag burning in the fire made me pissed the black thing I'm used too...but the burning flag drove me bonkers.

A New Yorker cover is far from hardline conservative territory. That was drawn up and approved by people who lean left, and was meant to be a satirical illustration about some of the more radical perceptions some people have about Obama.

As for Obama being some poor victim of racism, yeah right. For the 'candidate of change', that dude has 100% mastered the political arena and has a bunch of fools eating out of his hand still convinced that he's just a poor naive guy who just wants us to all get along.

Dude, you bring some good points to the table and I would reply but...the fact of the matter is of all the times I responded to your journal in the past with no reply from you and the fact that I am discussing such a bruised topic which has beaten the dead horse so many times you reply now...I refuse to respond.

I rather discuss lighter subjects with you than this we barely know each other. Maybe another time.

Whatevs. Never meant to insult you in the past, I appreciate comments on my journal but don't go back and respond to them just for the sake of responding to them if there isn't anything brought up in them.

Point I was trying to make, is I get how people can and should be offended by the cover, just don't throw that anger at people who don't like Obama, because truth is that his own supporters are responsible for those images. It was all supposed to be a joke and just went too far. The whole 'white people who don't support Obama are racist' thing got old about 6 months ago.

Didn't bring up a point?! Oy Vey boy lol some of my replys have been me trying to give you advice or console you when you were having a rough deal. No biggie though no need for me to focus on that cuz we only live once. Glad to see you're still doing fine :).

Nah, you misunderstood I wasn't targeting Obama haters or republcans (Hell, in the beginning I was for Hillary and McCaine!) just mainstream society. They always go immediately for the race card on minorities. For example when the were making fun of Tiger woods they instantly started with the fried chicken and watermelon jokes.

In my mind if you want to debate or make jest (not referring to our discussion right now) please stay on topic with they views or they personality b/c in most circumstances someones race does not have a major hold on one's political views or whatnot. It just a secondary blueprint of the foundation of their exhistance.
