In an effort to get out of this weird funk, I'm posting some work, as per Cat's request. Mostly just little studies... in fact, all...
This is an old one, a study we had to do in two hours of the guy in the corner of
this painting by Raphael. Our prof started the slide projector off really blurry with this image, and then slowly focused it and we had to paint the best we could, eventually filling everything in right. But it's still a little sketchy.
This is a drapery study:
It is boring, however, if you follow
this link, you can see the full progression of this painting. I documented it because my prof told me NOT to work in layers and it fuxxed me up a little.
This is another drapery study, but without a progression. Black and white with blue/red glazing.
From figure drawing class. The next one is naked. A little late for a warning, I guess...
I like the neck/face here, and the rest is okay.
This is a study I finished yesterday of a painting by
Isabel Bishop, that I can't find a copy of online. But trust me, she was rad.
And unfinished study of
this painting by Fransisco Goya. I still have a fair bit of work to do on it.
And lastly, the Self Portrait I am struggling with:
I don't remember if I actually look like that anymore. I can't make the colours work together, and I can't make the textures intricate enough to get across what I want. So yes, vastly unfinished.
Maybe I should go back to actually trying to make these things right.
