i was kind of disappointed by atonement, maybe it's just because my expectations were too high. i agree it was thought-provoking but i thought the first half was a lot better than the second half. i haven't read the book but i felt like there was some stuff i was missing, idk like there was character background that the movie couldn't give. it did have beautiful cinematography though and i'd like to read the book.
and i know what you mean about cable, i grew up without it and i don't ever really feel like i missed much, except when people get all nostalgic about nickelodeon, lol. but now at school i have cable i don't use it much except for comedy central. it just seems like way too many choices.
I completely disagree about Neko Case. You haven't sold me jazzyo. Although if I could speak and sing like anybody I would choose Chrisette Michelle. And then I would slaughter you with your Neko Case voice.
you're forgetting some important things here 1. I wasn't trying to sell you on her...so booyakasha 2. this is about choosing a voice that best suits your personality and your essence which I feel Neko Case's voice does for me, I think it would be weird to hear chrisette michelle's voice come from your mouth but I don't think it seem that weird if I started singing like Neko Case 3. yes chrisette michelle has an amazing voice but let's be honest here...it's not unique, it's very typical female R&B singer where Neko has an extremely distinct voice that when you hear you know exactly who it is, If I were gonna go the R&B route I would definitely go with Mary J because her voice has some personality in it 4. It is unnecessary to bring violence into this discussion
But seriously how can you say chrisette michelle doesn't have a unique voice? The first time I heard it my immediate thought was "who is that?" because it sounded so different. And have you ever heard her just talking? It's almost like a raspy whisper, but still authoritative. Mary J's voice is too intense, I need something soft. Secondly what is the big deal with Neko Case in the first place. I don't see the hubaloo even though your not trying to sell her to me. I'm just saying I've never been particularly inspired.
she has the breath-y sultry R&B voice, I really don't see what's so special about it...no I have never heard her speaking voice but my speaking voice was not up for discussion I was talking about singing voices. I still think we have to talk about the voice fitting the person maybe Mary J's voice is intense but I am an intense person I would look/sound ridiculous with this breathy voice and I still don't think her voice fits your personality it's too sexy, not that you're not sexy lol, that's just not your upfront essence
Secondly, I can't convince you to like Neko Case nor am I going to try. I think she and her voice are amazing raw, pure, and accessible...nuff said
