There is something special to the neverending sea that has always inspired and fascinated us humans.

I am sad that here in Europe the traditions of just bursting into song at random seems to be dying. I think a bit more song and dance would do our culture good.

I agree...the black community in the US used to be very spontaneously musical, and that has really died down quite a bit here. Also, I heard a lecturer a couple months back and he was reading from someone who said the US had become a spectator culture. That in the 19th century pretty much everyone played an intstrument, but now people pay money to watch professionals because of its associations with a "high" culture. I thought that was very interesting.
