It comes down like you mention it--God's creation of universal laws and truth, and by our existence, is it handed to us. In its purest form? Its form is most relevant to us, as apprehended by humanity, and the social aspect of the exchange and transfer of knowledge -does- for our view of the world and interests make it exceedingly valuable.. as 'best' or 'purest', though the truths of this world exist purely unto themselves. Ours is only the point at which, by our physical make-up and capability for ordering information, we can intersect knowledge of the universe humanly.
There's something about the lying, adherence to truth in our actions, the extent to which a person can act in regards to truth in our forming of it in our minds, and the value, but I have to get going. Ultimately it's value as built upon by our understanding and circumstance, then the circumstances themselves that give shape to our speaking honesty with our decisions.
It's strange to think four days have passed since posting that your way. The end part though.. in retrospect likely doesn't need any clarifying, though rewording it would be good to make it less abstract and cold.
I think of how many things are unable to be full truths to us, though, and how I miss that it could be so. In regard to altruism and knowledge both. I hope you're doing well tonight and lately, Ramón.
Thanks for the comments, Don. I can always count on thought-provoking comments from you. I'm not sure where I am going with my line of thought. More than likely I'm wrestling more with the practical application of knowledge than actual ontological categories for truth and the like. I am doing well lately, and hope you are doing the same.
I guess it depends on which direction you want to apply it.. and then where. Are you meaning both inward and outward, or focusing on the individual "earnestness of held-truth"?
It'll be at the Easter vigil, so.. not yet! I'd thought it would be later, but it was shown to me the distinction of sacramental order held between previously baptized and those not: so in other words, those who have in the past will receive their confirmation in conjunction with First Communion. Our parish priest is at liberty to deliver this, whereas unbaptized newcomers will be taken by Detroit's bishop in the coming months. I wait with many thoughts.
Awesome. Sounds pretty primalist, actually. It's hard but very rewarding to find a philosophically and biblicaly solid line to walk between rationalism and mysticism. We shall hear more of this... keep it up and have a Stumptown macchiato for me.
