I saw the Dirty Projectors quite a few times, Bowerbirds twice, Bat for Lashes, Nomo, Tender Forever (well only one song but I'll still count it) and Cursive. Probably some other stuff too but I don't really keep a record anymore. This "season" I'll be seeing The Books, Why?, Do Make Say Think, Mount Eerie (maybe 3 times in a row), and maybe Owen or the Dirty Projectors again. Not in a band and I can't really name the best show. Maybe Arcade Fire at the height of their popularity or Cursive on my 15th birthday. The worst was probably some shitty Philly local show filled with high schoolers. Such a time waster.

I haven't been keeping up much with live music (or any music?) lately, sad.
I did see the Dirty Projectors and GirlTalk at free outdoor shows, which was fun and great people watching.
I made myself go to this, which was high energy and great music, but I hadn't realized how gentrified soul music crowds had gotten. Maybe I went to the wrong kind of venue, or I'm just an asshole.
I'm really really sad I missed Janelle Monae twice -- at afropunk and when she played with Erykah Badu. She's gonna be in NY again with Of Montreal really soon, but I need to find someone to go with.

i miss you negroclash.

ps. the shows I think that got me the most excited were Green Day in 2000, my first big concert, and French Kicks, who also played with Ima Robot and Hot Hot Heat. Ted Leo & the Pharmacists I've seen three times -- they always put on a great show. SIren Music Fest was the first time I saw them, and that was one of my favorite fests I've been to.

I touched Dave Grohl when I saw the Foo Fighters and that was pretty amazing :)

I've only seen Death Cab For Cutie this year :( I only went because my ticket was free. It was surprisingly really good. They have a ton of energy and actually made me love their stuff.

I haven't gone to a bad concert but I've seen a terrible set which was performed by Sloppy Meateaters, a shitty local band. Their name just sounds terrible.

I'm going to the Treasure Island Music Festival's Saturday date in October for MSTRKRFT, Murs, Passion Pit, and MGMT. I might see Joshua Radin at the end of that month.
