Why now, more than ever, does it seem like I am immature? Why do I feel like I acted more responsible 5 years ago? Is it because I am now in the routine of adult life, and I finally feel comfortable, or is it just that I am finally opening up a little more to those around me because I can finally relate

when you say "routine adult life", i take this as you being just one of many others doing the exact same shit you are, making you not as special as you were a couple of years ago.

but adults shouldn't be your focus anymore. you looked up to them and became one. now your job is to figure out stupid little things that occupy the time til you pass.

when i see you at work, i'm reminded that you have your shit together and i don't. and i never tell you that, but i've always looked up to you that way.

you're basically an adult now. you're not going to impress other adults. just the kids. me. once you're comfortable with that role, then everything's gonna be cool.
