I know this sounds pretentious but I don't mean it to come off that way. Music festival is stupid. Don't do it because you want to get a gold or a platinum. Do it because you love singing and you want to hear what someone else besides your parents or your instructor or your friends have to say about it. Your parents aren't going to tell you that you have nice vibrato or that you need more vibrato. And the stupid thing about music festival is that if you do it long enough, you'll realize that Gold to one adjudicator means the same as Silver to another. And that doesn't mean that you're any worse than you thought you were. The only thing that matters is how YOU thought you did and whether or not you can take away any constructive criticism. You love singing, I know you do, and it IS something you're good at. In the scheme of things, Fort McMurray Music Festival means NOTHING =)
