Eldan has this pair of bike panniers- the ones in this photo, in fact, that are around ten years old. They've started developing little holes in them, and some of the hardware is a little busted.

I asked around, and it turns out that you can get spare parts and patchkits for these things pretty cheaply. So I'm fixing them up and they're in the

They're not actually 10 years old - we've just been through a lot together. Thank you for fixing them. I feel a little stupid having decided to replace them, but so many things were broken that it felt like it was time to give up. Trust the Germans to prove me wrong.

If you get a bike with a front rack and you're doing any serious touring, it'll be handy to have them around -- not really worth buying a second pair for unless you're doing it a lot, but really nice.

I think they might be too big to hang off the front of a bike, but I've been wrong about this kind of thing before...
