Interesting. A little bit on how the first TRON movie cemented electronic music into my little 6 or 7 year old brain very early on. I was already soaking up every variation on all things music. So it all resurfaced later as an adult when i could buy my own stuff and explore radio at will. ^_^

Sadly, i didn't have Nickelodeon. But i had ton of VHS bootlegged movies to obsess over. TRON was one of those, along with The Dark Crystal and The Sea Prince and The Fire Child(which was one of my first experiences with anime and STILL holds up today!).

It probably aired on non-Nick channels at some point, really don't know its full history, I do know that the credits are all in French and it lists a french production house, so I don't /think/ it was made ONLY for Nick, especially since I believe the dates on the actual show are like late 70's, before there was such a channel.

I kind of want to do a marathon of this, followed by Nazca if I can ever get all the discs for that little series, for ANIMATED FICTIONAL INCAN NIGHT!

I loved that show! Though I did see the ending, I don't remember it too well. Pity there's no Netflix here.

Apparently the DVD's are available in Germany, from a chat I'm in with many UKers and a German. Don't know about around you...

I'd rather not see it dubbed in German, as my German stinks, but I'll have to keep an eye out for it here. Pity my nieces aren't interested in cartoons anymore.

Haha, now the theme song is stuck in my head (at least, the melody and the bit of lyrics I remember). Weird the things you remember when you forget so much else...

Well I was more bringing it up because if it's on DVD /somewhere/ maybe it is elsewhere. We can HOPE!

I'll be keeping an eye to see if the Netflix streaming means it'll be in US on DVD. Possibly can work out a way to get you a copy if so somehow?

AWESOME.

I have been talking that show up for years to friends who hadn't seen it. I am really glad to hear it holds up, because I'm totally going to be making people watch it.

Yeah I was so happy that it held up as well as it has been! There's so much stuff I loved as a kid I just look at now and am all "WHYYYY little me, did you have so little taste/sense?!" but I was enjoying watching this.
