Duchess just struck and constricted the p/k mouse I put in her tank only minutes ago! She refused a p/k rat last weekend. I'm glad she's at last interested in food, she hasn't eaten in a couple of months

Hey, I've never posted here before. I believe the name of your snake is really awesome. I don't believe I've asked, but how long have you been interested in snakes? I have handled one before (it was one of those types w/o the venom).

I've been interested in them for a VERY long time but my mother was always terrified of them so I couldn't have one or anything. I used to read herpetology books when I was in elementary school (between the entomology and ornithology ones, lol).

I can't handle Duchess, she's too skittish. I don't believe she was treated well before she came to me (she was injured too). Recently she has begun moving about her tank more, this may mean she's getting used to her environment (after...over 2 months now). If she stops hiding, and flinching when she sees me, I may start trying to handle her some.

All righty. Well, hopefully, Duchess will stop hiding, etc. It's unfortunate that she was treated poorly in the past.
