I just found out that one of my best friends, in my whole life, passed away on Wednesday. Her mother is trying to be optimistic that it wasn't suicide but I'm afraid I can't so easily do the same. I can't talk about it right now; maybe I'll write more later.

Oh my word. I'm so sorry to hear that, I know you can't dismiss suicide but death of any kind is not something to easily get through.
