I caught the first showing of this at a local theatre today, and it was AWESOME. I never saw the stage production nor did I ever hear the soundtrack, but I've loved the original film forever. I don't feel like writing anything long, so this will be short...Wow the only thing I have a complaint about is, in this version there's no explanation

True, it didn't say. I took the straight hair as a kind of loss of innocence. But that's me. =)

You saw Hairspray too? Cool! I like that movie a lot too. I never saw the stage production or the 1988 version, but I do like the 2007 version a lot.

I could just imagine what Nikki Blonski would look like as a disney princess or do the voice of a disney princess. That be awesome!
