So you should all do yourselves a favor and watch In the Flesh, for it is lovely and amazing and deep and funny and has great music. I mean, it has zombies, human defense militias, complicated politics, a queer main character, cuckoo undead prophets, sleepy English town drama and adorable Northern accents, what else could you want ( Read more... )

I heard something about a queer character before, but is that a zombie? I'm not interested in zombie shows, but I'm curious anyway.

Yeah, it's the main dude - they found a way to "cure" zombies in the show, and they're slowly being integrated back into society, to a lot of prejudice. It's so good, you should watch it!

yay someone else watches In the Flesh!

I first saw Wunmi Mosaku in Dancing on the Edge (which I abandoned after two episodes because they fridged ppl for the boring white rich folk) but I was glad to see her in a complex role here.

Everyone on my dash is obsessed with it, but I haven't seen anyone in LJ talking about it! So weird, as it is so good.

Is that the series that had angel coulby as a singer? I did hear it wasn't all that great.

I hope it gets a third series!

Yeah, Coulby's character was killed at the end of episode 2 and that was the last straw for me.

Why would anyone in their right minds kill angel coulby off in the first few episodes?? People are weird.

It's really good but uuuh it canbe triggering for self-harm, suicide and depression. The series is not about that, but. I'd forgotten to warn above. It's such a lovely series though.

I'm mostly ok with stuff like that if I don't watch it alone late at night. Looking forward to it.

The only triggering stuff that i really can't do is rape-y stuff a la Game of Thrones.

So I just watched the first episode instead of watching the world cup. It's really good but wow, very intense!

Ikr? I never expected such great emotional payout from a show about reformed zombies!
