Sure it won't save us in the sandbox, but it's still nice to know people back home are looking out for us. It seems 'I support our troops' is more than a $2.99 bumper sticker. Hooah!

Indeed. You can get a discount at almost any restaraunt or store if you have a military ID, or just by wearing your class A's. A local store manager is doing extra work on a model my brother bought, it's really nice.

At the government level, "support the troops" is just a callous smokescreen as they blame soldiers for their failed policies. From citizen to citizen, I think the soldiers know that they're appreciated. :)
