*hehs and pats, looking sheepish* Well, uh..... I'm not sure I -completely- understand it, and feel a little silly for making this post just an odd story, but just wanted to record it for myself. Seems to me it's saying that real friends are the ones that will actually jump in and help you, especially if they've been there before and know some of the answers. *shrugs*

Wow. That's pretty deep, actually.

I can see an analogy of that hole to ANY substance abuse problem, too - doctors just throw prescriptions, priests just keep praying to God that deliverance will come, but nobody actively DOES anything unless you get a friend who's already been there, and knows how to escape.
