I have a (pure bred) American Pitbull. It's required that I have a sign up at the front door and back gates saying there is a dangerous dog on the premises and also when my dog goes out for a walk, it must be on a special lead and collar. The collar is striped with red and yellowy/green reflective things on it. If my dog gets out without the collar and a muzzel it's about a $5000 fine. I'm not entirely sure what might happen to your dog, I think you're doing the right thing in trying to control things but getting a muzzel and desexing, other than that I don't know. I hope things work out.

What she said.

An animal behaviourist could also possibly help, but they cost a fortune. :(

desexing will probably help, if pup is only a year old hopefully when the hormones disappear (from being spayed) he will stop behaving in such aggressive ways. if he was older, it might be a learnt behaviour. try teaching pup to do something else when approached by new people, e.g. teach pup to sit down. then whenever a new person comes up, you can give pup the signal to sit down, and give praise etc.

gemfyre is right, animal behaviourists are hella expensive, but if after spaying and some training you do yourself, it doesn't work, you could get one out for just one visit, and they can give you a lot of ideas that you can do yourself. they really are pretty awesome.
