Prologue Part1 Satoshi woke up from his uncomfortable sleep with a slight headache. Last night he couldn't sleep at all. He needed a diversion, so he jumped out from his bed and walked towards the beach. He wanted to swim to feel the taste of the sea on his skin. Maybe, that way he could temporarily forget about the image of the man who invaded his house the day before and made him had a sleepless night.
He stayed at the sea for about one hour and went back to his beach house just to find Sho standing in front of a very messy kitchen. Sho didn't seem to aware of his presence because he was too busy trying to figure out how to put out the smoke came out from the frying pan. Satoshi couldn't hold his laugh anymore. The sight was just too amusing. Still laughing, he hurriedly helped Sho to fix whatever mess he had created in his kitchen.
Sho was still struggling with the frying pan, while the muffled sound of laughter from his back surprised him. Then suddenly Satoshi was standing behind him helped him to put out the smoke. Too close, Sho thought, when he felt Satoshi's warm breath on the back of his neck. Sho suddenly forgot how to breathe when he realized that Satoshi was only in his boxers, with a towel rested on his shoulder. His hair was still damp, and Sho could see the water glistening on his tanned body. His felt this warm sensation on his cheek and shifted away from the sudden closeness.
With hands covering his mouth, Satoshi tried his best not to laugh and he managed to mumble a few words, "Sakurai san, I'll finish the cooking. You go ahead and take a shower. I'll let you do the dishes later."
Sho could have sworn that Satoshi said it with a teasing tone that made his cheeks even redder that before. He walked to the bathroom with his heart still beating fast. He hated himself because Satoshi's presence made him acted like a stupid teenage girl. His brain told him that this was not the right time to feel anything, specially this weird feeling he felt towards the man he just met yesterday. He was a fugitive and he had to survive.
He remembered what his best friend, Ninomiya told him before he helped him runaway. "Sho, you have to be strong. I promise I'll find the bastard who did this and kick him hard on the ass. You just have to hold on until I give you a call," Nino said it while giving him the gun and look at him on the eyes. Sho trusted him. He just had to wait a little longer.
That day went by so quickly. Sho had managed to avoid Satoshi and locked himself in the room until his stomach growled asking for dinner. Finally he gave up, opening the door while hoping he wouldn't see the owner of the beach house.
Satoshi felt that Sho had been avoiding him the whole day. He didn't know the reason and he convinced himself that he didn't care. After all he was just a stranger with only God knows what he had been doing carrying a gun everywhere. When the door opened, Satoshi just lift up his head for a moment and he immediately got back reading his magazine. But when Sho silently ate his food, Satoshi couldn't help to steal glances at him and finally, without realizing it, Satoshi couldn't take his eyes off Sho. He enjoyed watching his movement, full of confidence, yet there was some clumsiness in it. He felt like he wanted to capture that movement in a painting, but he just couldn't find the right image, Sho's very own image.
Sho knew that Satoshi was watching him, with an unusual stare that seemed like passing through him, unveiling his whole being. He felt his heart beating faster once again and he was just thinking to run back to his room when Satoshi suddenly asked, "Sakurai san, would you mind tell me what happened? I really want to help you." The sincerity from the tone of his voice made Sho's heart skipped a little and he just knew, aside from Nino, he could also trust this guy.
After a long silence, Sho was finally willing to tell his story from the beginning. Satoshi was surprised. He never expected that Sho's past was so painful. He could not even imagine the sadness, fear and suffering that Sho must deal with. He was out of words when Sho looked at him with his big eyes, asking silently for Satoshi to believe in him. Satoshi knew he would believe everything Sho said, it was just he could not find what words to say to him. He finally let out a reassuring smile, and said only one simple sentence, "Sakurai san, I believe in you."
When he saw the smile, Sho felt like a big burden had been lifted up from his chest. He knew it was silly but he couldn't help to smile back at Satoshi. "Thank you, those words really mean so much to me.” With a teasing tone, Satoshi answered him, "Just don't mess around with my kitchen anymore, okay? I already lost my trust in you on that one.” Sho laughed for the first time ever since the night of the murder, and Satoshi decided that he loved the sound of that laughter. It sounded like a bell and it was contagious. Just by hearing the sound of that laughter, people around him would also smile.
"Ohno-san, I.." Satoshi cut him, before Sho finished his sentence, "Call me Satoshi." "Then, you should call me Sho." Suddenly, the atmosphere between them changed drastically, from a tense one, to be a loose calming atmosphere. It seemed like they knew each other since a long time ago and enjoying each other presents. Both of them silently thought that it was weird, but they just decided that it didn't matter.
"Satoshi-kun, I've told you my story, now it's your turn." While smiling Satoshi just said that there's nothing interesting about his life. "I'm just an ordinary artist. I live a boring life, at least compared to you." Satoshi was glad that Sho didn't recognize him. Of course, he looked very different when he was on stage. He didn't like people seeing him as an artist or singer. He just wanted people to see him as he really was. He used to think that the only one understood him completely was his childhood friend, now his current manager Matsumoto Jun. Sometimes without saying anything, Jun would understand and vocalized his thoughts to other people. He needed Jun, and Jun was important for him.
But the feeling Satoshi felt when he saw Sho laughing, looking at him with his wide eyes gave Satoshi a strange tingling sensation in his stomach. He didn't know what it was, and it scared him because the sensation itself was addictive, to the extent that he wanted to feel it over and over again until he could figure out what it was.
