I'm trying to compile a list of fanfiction cliches for the following fandoms:

Harry Potter
Kingdom Hearts
Kyou Kara Maou
CLAMP (general)
Naruto
Final Fantasy VIII

Can everyone post their pet peeves please?

for Harry Potter it's when Peter is non-existent in Marauders fic. It drives me up the wall when he just isn't there. XD

That's one I didn't think of! For Marauders I had quite a few, but I spaced Pettigrew (rather like the people you're complaining about ^^;)

1) Naruto/HP crossovers where for some reason Ron and Hermione are asshats to Harry just so that Naruto/Sakura/Sasuke can become friends with him and therefore remove his canon friends from the fanfic.

2) Fics where characters are bashed for no apparent reason (aka evilbitch!Sakura, tormentorasshole!Sasuke, bastard!Ron). If you don't like a character you should still protray them accurately unless there is a reasonable excuse. Bashing them is just plain petty and immature

That is a very useful list! I'm planning to write some fics based on cliches while still trying to make them good (such as the Harry Potter 'Harry has a sister' fic or the Naruto 'Naruto becomes Hokage' fic). A lot of these are ideas that could be done well. Although Mpreg Naruto I'm not touching.

Kyou Kara Maou: Wolfram is automatically the uke. Just because he looks like a girl doesn't mean he can't top once in awhile.

That being said, I do enjoy reading UkeWolfram but I also think Yuuri would be a good Uke too(If onlt there were more stories)... can't they just switch off?

Kingdom Hearts: Kairi bashing. I happen to like Kairi thankyou very much.

Harry Potter: super magical (magic steroids) Harry where he's heir of the houses and/or merlin.
