Even though Cordy actually behaved like a much older baby last night (up only 3x at 2.5 hour intervals instead of every hour for 20-40 minutes each time---she's in a growth spurt) I'm still pretty much exhausted

I fold them in half and slide them under my bra strap. :) For the most part, I don't even bother with the adhesive. Amelia's a very sloppy eater and a lot of times they get soaked needlessly because of it if I don't take them out altogether. (Also, have you gotten those sleeper bras? They're amazing. I use them 24/7 unless my shirt is somewhat see-through. :D)
It's very, very difficult in the beginning because you haven't quite learned her schedule yet and she probably just wants to cuddle because she's now without the constant warmth of the womb and all the fun sounds that entails.
Option 1: Get a sling and carry her a lot. I don't often do this because of the chronically sore back/knee combo. If you go this route, it helps to sing or hum songs that you may have sung/hummed while you were pregnant. It blew my mind one time when I did that when Rachel was born. She stopped crying immediately.Option 2: Put her in her crib, close the door, turn off the monitor, set the kitchen timer for 30 minutes and leave her be until the timer goes

Mommy time outs are apparently wonderful things, so I will take them when needed for sure!
