[FAN FIC] Battle Lines Chapter 1 & Possible Chapter 2
mmmm... Not quite my usual fic post because I wrote chapter 2 and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Thoughts would be nice.

CHAPTER 2 Possibly:
Clare Edwards was not pleased.
The sight of Eli walking toward her usually put her in a better mood, but right now was a rare exception. She leaned one shoulder against her locker mentally preparing herself for what she was about to say. Eli stepped in front of her seemingly oblivious to her current displeasure. As he leaned in to kiss her cheek Clare let out a heavy sigh. She turned her head to meet his eyes.
“Are you going to explain to me what happened on Friday night?” Clare’s curt retort wasn’t enough to cause Eli’s smug expression to falter, but she couldn’t help but notice his smile faded ever so slightly.
She watched as his eyes drifted from hers for a moment as he regained composure. He laughed and moved closer to her “What about Friday night? Not enough of me for the weekend? I’m inclined to agree-“
But Clare had no plans to let Eli get away from this one. “I was referring to that little stunt you pulled with Fitz.” She paused but when she saw Eli was not about to argue she continued, “I didn’t appreciate our little surprise visit to Fitz’s… party. Why can’t you just let this go? It’s like you are going out of your way to make him hate you.”
Eli’s smile faded once again. “I don’t care if Fitz hates me or not, really that’s not the issue here. The issue is that the guy is a jerk and I want him to know that not everyone is just going to ‘let it go.’ There has to be a time when you stand up to the bully and say enough.”
Clare felt his eyes searching hers for understanding. She didn’t want to fight him but she knew she couldn’t support him either. She sighed and looked towards her feet. “I just want to know when this is going to stop. When is it going to be the end for you?” Her voice was barely a whisper and for a moment she wondered if he had heard her, but Eli’s reply was confirmation he had.
“I’ll let you know when the end gets here.”
