Oh, yes, definitely. I used a big ol' jar with a tight-sealing lid (formerly used to store flour, which I now store in the fridge). It's about the size of a sun tea jar. I filled 5 of those cute round bottles, 1 clean Smirnoff bottle, and another smaller plastic bottle that I'm keeping cold in the fridge.
Ha! That's a lot of tasty, tasty booze. Hm... I'd like to try but I doubt I have the patience! (And the cat is really good at getting into what he's not supposed to. Though it would smell like lemons, so that's a plus.)
Will it keep on the shelf or does it all have to be refrigerated?
It's actually a fairly easy process because if you forget about it in the closet for a month or two, it turns out nice anyway. The most irritating part for me was trying to peel the lemons without getting a bunch of pith in the jar. Then again, I don't have a mischievous kitty to worry about. That could be a whole 'nother ball of wax.
I think it'll keep on the shelf for awhile, but it's best to keep it chilled or frozen (or, you know, as frozen as vodka will get). I'm still working on finding enough small containers so I can divvy it up better. I'mma take a bunch home to my parents this weekend; Dad will be very pleased.
