This is really intense. Sorry you had a sad "welcome back".

Stories like this always make me laugh at the people that make comments about how dangerous South America is.

Sounds Traumatizing! It also sounds like the strategy you used would also have worked on an angry bear or something... "Back away and don't say a word"

Yeah, my neighborhood is sketch. No doubt about it. For awhile, I was collecting all the horrible pick-up lines I heard while walking around. I generally take a "keep to myself" attitude unless they're local business people or neighbors (who are really friendly! Please shop in West Berkeley! It's really nice during the daytime!)

I've also had some cat call experiences while standing at that 51 stop because the light takes FOREVER to turn green so cars just sit there and apparently dudes have nothing better to do. However, the fact that the pick-up truck came through the intersection TWICE shows some determination and that would have freaked me out too.
