Slow Deep Breaths
It's been a while since I vented my frustrations about Damian's school district. OMG *FUME*
They switched the school my son has been going to since kindergarten. Yes, that 5 years!! He only had one year left at this school and they pull this crap because "with a new school being opened this year, we re-drew the distrcit lines and the school your son is going to can no longer provide transportation because a bus no longer goes anywhere near you home" yada yada bullshit.
So he gets put into a new school. Registration for the new school was wednesday the 8th. Last Wednesday. They didn't even have all his records transfered. They didn't have him down for all his classes! It was a mess. *grits teeth*
...but, the cherry to top this is finding out which bus Damian would be riding... because there's not a bus at the new school that goes ANYWHERE NEAR WHERE OUR HOME IS!!!!!!!!!! GAH!!
Isn't that the reason why we were forced to switch schools?! WTF
Damian's old school was 2 miles away. His new school is 5 miles away. How does this make any sense?!
So, now I have to deal with the transportation department to get Damian on a bus route.
On Wednesday, the same day I registered Damian, I call and I'm given a nasty attitude like it should be obvious which bus my son should ride. "Haven't you checked the route sheet?! Just find your street and that's the bus your child will ride! duh!" Such crap.
I have to explain all over again that NONE of their routes go anywhere near my home. That my child didn't go to this school last year. blah blah repeat repeat. Just to get told to call back because a supervisor isn't in. god. fucking. damn.
I call back three times before some guy helps me. Promises me it might take a few days but he'll call me back.
I wait till yesterday and after no response I call back to find that a new supervisor was brought in and now no one knows their head from their ass. No one knows what happened to my request/call/paperwork. No one claims to have ever heard of my call nor the guy I spoke with. I get told that this new woman supervisor should call me back about it. SHOULD?! For fucks sake! School starts next wednesday. It's only 1 week left!!
Luckily I get the call back from this new woman today. Unfortunately, the only response she left on my HOME answering machine (and NOT my work number that I provided for people to call me at) was that the bus stop could not be moved from the major highway at the end of my road. That they would not bring Damian down the road because it is a dead end road with no where for the bus to turn around safely. She didn't tell me which bus Damian would ride or anything.
I call her back and explain that I wanted to bring the bus stop down my road because LAST YEAR it was at the highway. I tell the whole thing all over again about how there isn't even a bus-stop to change right now!!
I tell her that I want the new bus stop to be on our road because the highway is a major highway, on a dangerous stretch of it to boot, that there is going to be a Wal-Mart opening up next door creating even more traffic and where the highway bus-stop is/was there is no one around and he's the only one getting off on this bus stop. There's not a single house or business viewable from the bus-stop and there is a convicted pedophile (child-rapist) one street over. So, if anyone wants to abduct my child on his long walk home from the highway, NO ONE would see it. Mobile phones are prohibited so he couldn't even call anyone in case of emergency. I even go into telling her about how Damian is really small and that the recognition ratio for people realizing the gender of my son female:male is 10:1.
After my long and drawn out 'plea' where I had to cut her off and keep her from interjecting she finally tells me she'll reconsider and have a person higher up take a look at the case. She then goes on to tell me that she doesn't even have the authority to change bus stops in the first place. HOLD ON. EXCUSE ME? Didn't you just fucking say that you personally drove out to inspect my road and based on YOUR decision the route couldn't be changed?!
I AM SO FUCKING PISSED. Needless to say, I'm fired up and ready for a fight with the school's transportation department. I will have my way. They've pushed it too damn far with their incompetence. FUCK!!
I'm in love with a manga character 'Agito' from the manga (not the dumbed down anime) Air Gear. His favorite word is fuck and uses it liberally. ^_^
