Art thieving?

I know stuff like this has been written around 100 times, but it's my first time (yeah baby)I write something like this here (at least I guess so) and I would like to have some honest oppinions about it. My gallery on DA got watched by someone lately who had a picture which was inspired by the art tutorial I did a long time ago on my equine-dreams ( Read more... )

I'll definately be sending a mail in a few weeks then.. eventually I'll do more gift arts / trades for you, I'm sure, and they must have somewhere to send to. I understand the need to move.. every once in a while, people just need a fresh change. I hope the moving works out well for you.

As to the art theft, maybe you should just leave this one alone, unless it seems she's done this with many of her other pics.. maybe that one isn't quite as it seems, or she's grown past the need to direct copy, and actually do her own work since, in which case, no need to stir up past time demons.

Hm... I wouldn't assume something vicious behind this so far. There are questions though, that pop up in my head: How old is the other artist? How good are her drawings? has she got something that can be declared as an own style ( ... )

I don't think it matters too much, but you could ask her to put a notice on or with the picture, saying it's a practice picture. That she traced it.

I'll want y'r new address. I've got something f'r you. :3

Yah, just ask her to add a link to your original drawing where she posted her trace of it. Tracing, yah, bad.

I'll email you in a couple weeks for your address so I can send you a valentine :D

I actually don't see much problems with it. If I understand correctly, she posted a link to this tutorial right in the picture's description? People will be able to see that she copied it anyway. Personally, I wouldnt mind as long as I was credited in the desc and that it wasn't one of my characters she copied.
