So, am I the bad mother for not being scared at all? Even worse, sometimes I take advantage of having him secured in his seat and busy with stuffing his face and feeding the dog, and I do dishes, pick up clutter, do laundry, etc.

I don't really know what to tell you. Keep doing it, and maybe you'll just get used to it. You know that he can do it.

Will does choke sometime but its usually because he is getting tired and doesn't try to chew. I usually stop feeding him at that point. Other than that he is really good about eating himself. I think you just need to relax. If he does choke, more than likely he will get it out himself after a few coughs. He needs the practice to figure it all out too. Relax! :D It's all a learning process and from what I've seen, they enjoy it.
